An unidentified man jumped to his death earlier tonight from the Route 8 connector on to Interstate 95 in Bridgeport.

State police offered no information other than that they were investigating an incident, but the Department of Transportation closed a lane on I-95 northbound in Bridgeport while police investigated the incident and cleared the scene.

Traffic was tied up for more than 90 minutes during the investigation.

No other information was available late Wednesday night. The Connecticut Post will be updating the story Thursday with whatever information state police release.

Those two earlier accidents that were snarling I-95 northbound between Exits 38 and 39A in Milford and at Exit 41 on the Orange-Milford line have cleared, at 9:15 a.m. . State police report there were no injuries in either, despite one vehicle being rolled onto its roof.

So has another crash– also northbound — in Milford, by Exit 40, Old Gate Lane. The DOT is reporting road work just beyond Exit 41 that has the potential to tighten up the traffic flow until about 3 p.m. .
