Metro-North trains are running up to 30 minutes late this morning after a wire came down on the tracks at Southport station.
Firefighters responded to the incident at about 8:10 a.m., and Metro-North announced delays of 10 to 15 minutes at about 8:30.
At about 9:10 a.m., Metro-North reported delays of up to 20 minutes, and at about 9:30 a.m. the organization said the delays had extended to up to a half hour.
The incident was one of many that left emergency responders scrambling Monday morning as severe thunderstorms swept through the region.
All of Connecticut is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 p.m., with another round of severe weather expected early this afternoon.
