UPDATE, 7:10 p.m.: According to the Stratford Fire Department, Engine 1 and Tactical Rescue 5 responded to a 150′ by 150′ brush fire. There was some exposure to wooden barriers in the area, but it was held to where it started without any other significant damage.
UPDATE, 6:30 p.m.: The fire has been knocked down and all lanes are open again. No traffic delays in the area.
UPDATE, 6:15 p.m.: The DOT says the right lane of I-95 SB between exits 30 and 29 is closed because of the brush fire.
6 p.m.: Traffic is slow heading from Stratford toward Bridgeport southbound on I-95 near the exit 29 off-ramp because of a smoke condition caused by a brush fire in the wooded area near the side of the highway.
Smoke can be seen on the exit 30 DOT camera.
The Stratford Fire Department is on scene along with state police.
The on-ramp at exit 30 in Stratford (Surf Avenue) is closed.
