6:30 a.m. traffic update

live (1) liveMetro North train service from Waterbury at 6:42 a.m. will actually be provided by a bus this morning. Those of us who’ve lived in the Valley have seen this before.

The “train” will be making all stops to Bridgeport.

Traffic is literally standing still at the bottom of Route8/25 in Bridgeport, waiting to enter I-95 either north or south. The spot is usually congested, but today the backup extends past the Fairfield Avenue exit.

Delays. are also reported on I-95 Southbound between Exits 29 and 21, a stretch of 6 miles, in Fairfield.

The Exit 34 (Devon/Route 1) ramp in Milford is closed for roadwork again today.

I-95 in New Haven also is congested, with an average speed of 30-45 miles per hour, over the pearl harbor Memorial Bridge, past Long Wharf and into West Haven.

It’s pretty foggy out there, but roadwork on the Merritt Parkway southbound in Greenwich and on I-95 northbound near Exit 15 in Norwalk is suspended until 9 a.m., after rush hour.
