7 a.m. traffic update

A little dreary out there with some clouds and lingering fog.

The good news is that there are no major problems on southwestern Connecticut’s major highways.

On the Merritt

Traffic starting to build at the usual bottleneck near the Route 8 interchange and White Plains Road in Trumbull.

It remains tight until Black Rock Turnpike and then opens up for a good ride down to Stamford.

Interstate 95

Heaviest traffic is SB between Exit 30 in Stratford and Exit 22 in Fairfield.

Southbound is congested between Exits 29 and 21, about 6 miles.

In Darien, southbound is congested between Exits 16 and 11.

In Milford, road work on I-95 Northbound at Exits 34 in effect today until 2 pm. Exit 34 off ramp is closed.

Interstate 84

No problems reported.

Metro-North

New Haven Line Customers traveling through the vicinity of Southport may experience scattered delays of up to 15 minutes due to an earlier disabled train in the area.
