Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

6:30 a.m. traffic report

It’s already busy out there.

A disabled vehicle is blocking the right lane of I-95 northbound in Stratford between exits 31-33 (Honeyspot Road to ferry Boulevard. Since it’s on the northbound side and you’re most likely heading south at this time of day, how much of a delay it causes depends on how many of your fellow commuters are seeing a disabled vehicle for the first time (and don’t be one of those yourself).

It’s already backing things up for about a mile, to the bridge.

Traffic is also slow through the Bridgeport exits, especially around the Route 8 interchange, but things are moving. You’ll be moving at about 44 miles per hour, the DOT says.

Route 8 southbound is clear through the Valley and the Merritt parkway is also flowing smoothly right now; it tightens up a bit where Route 8/25 and, farther down, Route 7 come in.

No delays are reported on Metro North’s New haven Line trains into Grand Central, though the railroad will be cancelling some trains later this summer for track work.
