This morning’s commute is running smoothly, for one of the most congested highway areas of the country. There are no major accidents to report and just the usual heavy volume at all of the normal choke points and busy exits.
There is one accident on the Wilbur Cross Parkway near the West Rock Tunnel on the New Haven-Hamden border. It’s blocking the shoulder.
I-95 southbound is busy but moving in an 11 mile stretch between Exits 19 and 11 in Darien.
The Merritt Parkway is also clogged for more than 8 miles, between Exits 42 and 36 in New Canaan.
