Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

8 a.m. traffic update

|

Still a decent ride on major highways in southwestern Connecticut

Interstate 95

Biggest backups remain in Bridgeport SB starting at Exit 27.

Good ride down to Westport then traffic starts to jam again as you cross the Norwalk border.

It gets slower between Exit 13 in Norwalk to Exit 11 in Darien. Check out the live cam near Exit 15 in Norwalk.

Around New Haven, a SB accident just before the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge is causing some jamming there. Check out the live cam.

Merritt Parkway

A surprisingly good ride on this 75-year-old highway. Bumper to bumper in Trumbull to Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. Bunches up again around Norwalk.

Metro-North

Earlier problem of a tree underneath a Danbury Line train at the Merritt 7 station in Norwalk is over. Tree removed; on schedule again.

Bus service substituted for 8 a.m. train from Bridgeport to Waterbury.

New Haven Line grains to NYC on schedule.
