Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

9 a.m. traffic update

What happened today?

We’re not complaining, but this morning’s commute was one of the best in weeks?

Sure there was some usual congestion to report in the usual bottlenecks, but nothing major.

Interstate 95

The slowest traffic is I-95 SB, as you would expect in the Norwalk/Stamford area.

And there’s some bunching up of traffic around New Haven’s Long Wharf.

Merritt Parkway

Good rides both directions. Enjoy it while you can.

A few problems …

Substitute bus service will be provided on the Waterbury Branch for the 9:15 AM train departing Waterbury making all stops to Bridgeport due to mechanical difficulties.

The Waterbury train is disabled in Bridgeport. And that is causing some scattered delays on New Haven Line trains passing through Bridgeport.
