The Merritt Parkway in Westport is jamming right now, and not with some great tunes. No, it’s all these other people trying to get to work too.

The slowdown begins where it usually does, at the Sikorsky Bridge in Stratford, and it slowly builds, like the soundtrack to a bad horror movie, out by the Route 8/25 connector, Park Avenue in Bridgeport, Route 111 in Trumbull and Monroe and Exit 44 near the Fairfield rest area.

You know how, in a horror movie, you think its all done but NO, there’s still the girl hiding under the bed or some such plot twist? Well, that is the backup you’ll find in Westport, where the DOT says you’ll be travelling at about 11 miles per hour.

If you’re really late, get out of the car and run. You’ll probably be going faster. (No, don’t really do that).

I-95? it’s not much better right now. But there are no major accidents to report.

Route 8 is still clear in both directions through the Valley.

I-84 in Hartford and Waterbury are slow due to heavy traffic volume, as is I-91 near Meriden and Hartford.
