The delays on I-95 now stretch to Atlantic Street in Stamford. Traffic is moving, though at an average speed of 31 miles per hour. It is even slower in Greenwich between Exits 9 and 5 southbound, about a 4-mile stretch. There you’ll be going an average of 19 miles per hour, the DOT says.
Things are still busy further east, in Bridgeport, on I-95 southbound. Again, it’s heavy volume, but no accidents or construction delays at this time.
The Merritt Parkway has a much narrower band of congested traffic. Once you get out past Black Rock Turnpike, Route 58, things will open up considerably. You may still have to tap the brakes a few times, and don’t expect to get up to the speed limit– either the official state one or your own personal one– but you’ll be moving.
There is a delay on Route 25 southbound near Route 111, where there is an ongoing construction project.
