Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

6:30 a.m. traffic report

|

It’s quiet on the area’s roads and highways this morning.

Almost like a summer Friday.

It is Friday for many people and Metro North Railroad is adding extra trains for the afternoon commute, to get people to their long holiday weekend faster.

For now, though, those of us who are going into work today will have a smooth trip; at least at this hour.

Construction projects on the highways, particularly the Moses Wheeler Bridge work and the associated ramps, have been halted for the July 4th holiday.

There are no accidents to report. The Merritt Parkway, I-95,  Route 8 and Route 7 are flowing smoothly. The morning trains into Grand Central Terminal are on time.

Stay cool.
