Back-up on I-95 SB at Exit 26 in Fairfield.

Happy Monday to you!

So far, so good on the roads throughout our region. It is getting crowded at the usual spots.

There is some traffic on Route 8 southbound near Exit 7 in Trumbull, Route 127. Construction crews are winding up overnight work in that area.

The bottom of Route 8, where it joins I-95 in Bridgeport is also heavy, beginning at Exit 2, Fairfield Avenue.

And I-95 has some backups near the Moses Wheeler Bridge construction in Milford and Exit 26, North Frontage Road, in Fairfield. That is due to heavy volume and your average speed through the area is 26 miles per hour, the DOT says.

Metro North Railroad advises that alternate bus service will be provided in place of the 6:42 a.m. train scheduled to leave Waterbury at 6:42 a.m. The bus will make all scheduled stops at train stations in the Valley before arriving in Bridgeport for connecting trains to Grand Central Terminal and New Haven.
