A long motorcade now stretches from Bridgeport to Darien, a distance of about 20 miles, on I-95 southbound. Average speed through the area is 11-16 miles per hour.

There are also delays on I-95 southbound at Exit 10, Ledge Road in Greenwich, due to heavy traffic volume.

State Police are tending to a person in a disabled car near Exit 24 in Bridgeport. There is an apparent medical issue, not an accident, there but the fire department is also at the scene.

The Merritt Parkway is the scenic route through Fairfield County, and you’ll have plenty of time to admire that scenery as you make your way (slowly) south. Heavy volume is backing up traffic from the Moses Wheeler Bridge in Stratford into New Canaan.

Things are especially tight at the Route 8/25 connector.
