I-95 at Wordin Avenue in Bridgeport

The morning commute is off to a quiet start, with no major accidents or back-ups at this time.

Drivers are able to do the speed limit– which is all anybody wants, right?– on I-95 southbound through Bridgeport and the usual choke points, including the bottom of the Route 8/25 connector.

But volume is already building at the Bridgeport-Fairfield line and up to Exit 22, the DOT reports.

Road work on Route 8 southbound near Exit 19 could slow you down a bit; crews will likely be picking up and leaving soon.

Construction will be going on until 2 p.m. on the northbound side of I-95 in Milford, in the area of the Moses Wheeler Bridge, the DOT reports. The work shouldn’t affect the morning commute and will be gone for your return trip.

Metro North Railroad reports that trains are on or close to schedule.
