Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

Things are easing up… a bit

Traffic on the Merritt Parkway is flowing almost normally all the way into North Stamford at this hour, but I-95 is a different story.

There are still delays caused by heavy volume from Fairfield to Norwalk, with the  traffic particularly dense near the Sherwood Island Connector and at Connecticut Avenue.

Average speeds through that stretch are between 16 and 33 miles per hour, according to the DOT.

Route 63 in Woodbridge is closed at Route 69, for roadwork.

Metro North reports 5-10 minute delays on its New Haven and Hudson Line trains.

I-95 at the Darien Service Plaza, 9:45 a.m.
