There is an accident on the Merritt Parkway northbound near Exit 49 in Trumbull that is backing up traffic to Exit 48 and beyond. When one of two lanes (in this case the right) is blocked its like putting a cork in a bottle.

Metro North Railroad is experiencing some delays now on the New Haven Line of about 10 minutes due to congestion in the Bronx. This situation was caused by last week’s derailment near the train yards and is affecting equipment and track.

The best advice is to listen for announcements at each station or to check the message boards on the platforms.

The Shore Line East train that runs from New London to New Haven is experiencing a 40 minute delay coming into New Haven.

Except for the Merritt Parkway accident, which will add 5-10 minutes to your trip, the DOT estimates, that route is flowing smoothly.

I-95 is in remarkably good shape for this point in the morning rush too. There are no delays in the Bridgeport area to speak of. Things get bogged down a bit in Norwalk, beginning at East Avenue and continuing to Exit 11, Ledge Road and Noroton Avenue.
