There are delays of 10 minutes or more on Metro North Railroad’s Hudson and New Haven Lines. The delays affect both inbound and outbound service, and are due to continued “operational difficulties” and congestion at its Bronx yards.
A freight derailment near that facility last week damaged some equipment and blocked others.
Metro North officials announced on its Web Site that weekend service will be affected, including using buses in place of some trains, so the repair work can be completed.
Here is that message:
On Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, a substitute train/bus schedule will be in effect in order to get the rebuilding work done quickly and restore full operating capacity as soon as possible. The last bus for Yonkers departs Woodlawn at 1:30 AM.
