Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

Congestion starting to build on highways

|

We’re starting to see some heavy traffic on southwestern Connecticut roads this morning.

Interstate 95

Southbound traffic slows near Exit 26 in Bridgeport.

Southbound traffic slows near Exit 26 in Bridgeport.

Southbound drivers face the biggest slowdown between Exit 26 (live cam) in Bridgeport and Exit 22 in Fairfield (live cam). It will be tough to top 20 mph in this slow zone.

Past Exit 22 you have a good ride Down County with traffic buzzing along in the upper 50s mph to the low 60s.

But once you hit Norwalk you’ll be tapping the brakes near Exit 16 (live cam).

The ride into New Haven and the eastern shoreline is in good shape.

Merritt Parkway

Southbound congestion past the Route 25 intersection is slowing drivers to Exit 44 in Fairfield.

Northbound travel is also slow around Route 25 in Trumbull.

Interstate 84

Eastbound travel coming into Danbury is starting to build.

In Waterbury lots of company heading east near the Brass City mall.

Metro-North

Trains running on schedule.
