Southwestern Connecticut traffic updates from the staff at Hearst Connecticut Media Group

Roadwork projects have restarted

|

In between the morning and evening commute, several construction projects have resumed on highways in the region.

All of the projects will be buttoned up for the day by 4 p.m., the state DOT says.

Here’s a list of where the orange cones and hard hats are:

– The Merritt Parkway northbound in Stamford, between exits 29 and 33. The left lane is closed for that 4-mile stretch.

– The Merritt Parkway northbound between exits 31 and 41. That is a 15-mile stretch with no left lane, but plenty of trees to look at while you are sitting there.

– I-95 northbound between exits 16 and 21, 8 miles of road between Norwalk and Fairfield. Expect lane closures.

– I-95 southbound. The Exit 22 (North Benson Road) ramp in Fairfield will be closed today until 3 p.m. for paving.

– I-84 westbound in Danbury between exits 1-2. Some lane shifts and closures possible. Here is a photo of Exit 2 in Danbury, at 12:45 p.m.image151
