Heavy delays on I-95, Merritt

|

The AM commute has again started early today with bottlenecks that have knocked speeds down into the teens.

Merritt/Wilbur Cross parkways

Lots of company southbound starting at White Plains Road in Trumbull and continuing down to Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield. That’s about 5 miles of slow going.

Past that, it’s a good ride Down County.

Up in Meriden, that fallen tree that closed the southbound lanes has been chopped up and hauled away.

Southbound traffic is already heavy near Exit 26 in Bridgeport.

Interstate 95

In Bridgeport, traffic is jammed starting at the Route 8/25 merge and crawls southbound about five miles to Exit 22 in Fairfield (live cam).

Down the road it’s a decent ride to Norwalk where traffic slows into the mid-30s mph near Exit 15 (live cam).

In New Haven, southbound lanes are congested about three miles from Exits 51 and 48.

Interstate 84

Still a good ride both directions between Danbury and Waterbury.

Metro-North

On or close to schedule.
