On the rails

Metro-North is now operating under a Labor Day holiday schedule.

It includes Friday “getaway trains” and a regular weekend schedule on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Full details here.

For Amtrak, you can check on its service advisories.

On the roads

State Police say Friday and Monday should bring the heaviest traffic during the Labor Day weekend.

Connecticut State Troopers will be concentrating on enforcement of drunken driving, speeding, safety belt, and distracted driving laws during the entire Labor Day Weekend.

Troopers will use both traditional and non-traditional patrol vehicles on patrol searching for reckless and intoxicated drivers. Troopers will man sobriety checkpoints and targeted patrols to intercept drunk drivers.

To stay up to date on traffic accidents and lane closures, check out the state Department of Transportation’s highway incident reports here.
