Crash cleared; I-95 lanes reopen in Greenwich

Interstate 95

A crash involving a tractor-trailer truck and a car in Greenwich Thursday morning has been cleared.

For nearly three hours Thursday, it caused a massive traffic jam that stretched more than 10 miles.

The crash immediately closed the right and center southbound lanes between Exits 3 and 2 in Greenwich. Both lanes reopened before 11:30 a.m. Residual delays continue through the area.

The crash was reported at 8:42 a.m.

An accident in the northbound lane in the same area is backing up traffic into Rye, N.Y.

State Police said they would release details of the crash later today.
