It was tough going for commuters this AM.
The biggest headache was in the Danbury area because of a tractor-trailer fire in Brewster, N.Y.
For several hours, the accident closed all westbound lanes near the state border, creating a traffic jam more than 5 miles long.
By mid-morning only the right lane was closed. Backups continued to the Route 7 merge with I-84 in Danbury,
Around noon, all lanes were reopened.
The fire happened shortly before 6 a.m. The accident was near the I-684 merge.
During the morning rush hour, a pickup that fell onto its side across two lanes of the northbound side of the highway, near Exit 34 in Milford.
Officials indicate that the driver suffered minor injuries. A motorist reportedly helped the pickup driver out of the cab before medical technicians got there.
During the early afternoon, traffic was moving along on I-95 with no major problems or accidents.
Nice ride both directions.
