Traffic is heavy in spots on area roads

UPDATED 9:05 a.m.

Metro North reports a 10-15 minute delay on all New Haven Line trains, into and out of Grand Central Terminal, due to congestion caused by work on the tracks.

State Police are looking for a black Jeep with New York plates they say is involved in a hit and run. The vehicle was last seen near Exit 44 northbound on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield.

There is also a minor accident in downtown Bridgeport, at Fairfield Avenue and Lafayette Circle.

There is a delay due to heavy volume on I-95 southbound right now between Exit 22 in Fairfield and the Connecticut Avenue exit in Norwalk. The DOT estimates that your average speed will be 16-23 miles per hour in this stretch.

The Merritt Parkway is in comparatively good shape.
