UPDATED 7:55 AM
Avoid I-95 in New Haven if you can. There’s an accident tying up traffic:
It’s flowing pretty smoothly in our area, with pockets of slow traffic in Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford.
The Merritt is also in fine shape, with a bit of a delay in North Stamford.
UPDATED 7:15 AM
The delays are spreading now, into Norwalk. It’s still not a bad ride at all for a weekday morning.
On I-95 south there are two pockets of heavy volume: at the Bridgeport–Fairfield line and again through Norwalk.
The Merritt Parkway is in even better shape, with some slowdown at the Route 111 exit in Trumbull.
(41714004) Delays – NORWALK I95S at Exit 16 (EAST AVE #1) at 4/17/2014 6:51:57 AM #cttraffic
Starting to see the first signs of congestion.
It’s at the usual bottlenecks:
On the Merritt Parkway southbound in Trumbull just past the Route 25 intersection down to Exit 44 in Fairfield.
On I-95 south in Bridgeport from Exit 26 to Exit 22 in Fairfield.
And near SB I-95 in Norwalk near Exit 15.
UPDATED 6:25 AM
The first delay due to traffic volume is being reported by the state DOT. It’s on I-95 south, from Exit 27 in downtown Bridgeport, to Exit 22 in Fairfield.
If you commute often, you know this is where it often starts…
