Metro-North: Expect some delays all day

UPDATE 11:44 AM

Delays are getting shorter, at least that’s what Metro-North is saying at this time:

“New Haven Line Service will continue to experience delays of 15 – 20 minutes throughout the day due to signal issues caused by the signal equipment fire in the vicinity of Greenwich.”

UPDATE: 11:05 AM

The lastest from Metro-North:

“New Haven Line Service is currently experiencing residual delays of up to 45 minutes due to an earlier signal equipment fire in the vicinity of Greenwich.

“We appreciate your patience while emergency personal worked to safely resolve the issue. Please listen for announcements at your station.”

Metro-North says it has fixed the power problems, but there are residual delays.

Some delays are more than 80 minutes long. Yes, 80 minutes.

#metronorth always has problems!!!! Fire Dept. shut off power to the tracks… Not sure for how long

Sounds like these delays are going to last for a while.

MNRR update: “Maintenance crews and fire department are on the scene working to resolve the issue.”

Metro-North says the problem is caused by a fire and there could be delays up to 60 minutes.

“New Haven Line Service is temporarily delayed between Cos Cob and Port Chester due to signal equipment fire in the vicinity of Greenwich.

“Maintenance crews and fire department are on the scene working to resolve the issue.

Customers should expect significate delays of 30-60 minutes.

We will provide further information as it becomes available. Please listen for announcements at your station.

UPDATE 9:26 AM

These delays are not looking good.

INITIAL POST

Metro-North is reporting New Haven Line Service is temporarily delayed between Cos Cob and Port Chester due to signal problems in the vicinity of Greenwich.

The railroad made the announcement at 9;12 AM.

No word yet on how long the delays will last.
