INITIAL POST:

FAIRFIELD — Town and MTA police are investigating a report that a man in his 60s may have been struck by a Metro North train.

According to scanner reports, a man in his 60s was seen on or near the tracks just before the Southport station, shortly after 9 a.m.

The conductor of the eastbound train reported that a man had “trespassed onto the tracks and may have been struck,” a dispatcher said.
