Two seriously injured in Shelton crash

SHELTON — Two people had to be cut out of their vehicle after it crashed into rocks on the side of Route 8 north on Tuesday night.

The accident site was between Exits 12 and 13. Firefighters and medics from Echo Hose Co. responded at 8:30 p.m.  to find a vehicle into the rocks with two occupants trapped.

Companies removed the doors and the roof of the vehicle to extricate the patients who were then transported to the hospital by Echo Hose Ambulance

 with traumatic injuries, according to a post on the Echo Hose  Facebook page.10671433_10152647254035552_7166740272476295972_n

Northbound traffic was backed up on Route 8 in Shelton until about as of 9: 15 p.m.  State Police also were on the scene.
