Tuesday’s Metro-North service plan

The New Haven Line is expected to be fully operational Wednesday morning. The reduced service offered Monday will continue to be in effect on Tuesday.

AM Peak to Grand Central

A shuttle train operating approximately every 20 minutes between New Haven and Bridgeport Station

Between Bridgeport and Stamford Stations, two bus shuttles will operate:

  • Express service from Bridgeport to Stamford Station with regular train connections to Grand Central Terminal
  • Local service between Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield and Westport Stations (no bus service from Green’s Farms and Southport Stations)
  •  Limited train service from Westport Station
  •  Regular train service from South Norwalk Station to Grand Central Terminal

AM & PM Reverse Peak/Off-Peak Service

  •  For the AM/PM Peak: Limited train service between Grand Central Terminal and Westport Station
  • For the Off-Peak: Regular train service between Grand Central Terminal and Westport Station
  • Loop bus service with connections between Bridgeport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro and Westport Stations (no bus service from Green’s Farms and Southport Stations)
  •  A train shuttle operating approximately every 20 minutes between Bridgeport and New Haven Stations

PM Peak to New Haven

  • Regular train service from Grand Central Terminal to South Norwalk Station
  • Express bus service from South Norwalk to Bridgeport Station
  • Limited train service from Grand Central Terminal to Westport Station
  • Local bus shuttle service between Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro and Bridgeport Stations (no bus service from Green’s Farms and Southport Stations)
  • A train shuttle operating approximately every 20 minutes between Bridgeport and New Haven Stations

Regular train service will operate on the New Canaan, Danbury and Waterbury Branches.

Crash closes northbound Route 8 (Updated)

This won’t help the evening commute.

The state Department of Transportation is reporting Route 8 is closed on the northbound side between exits 14 and 15 in Derby because of a two-vehicle crash.

It could take up to two hours to clear the crash, the DOT estimates.

UPDATE: The accident has been cleared as of 5:07 p.m., according to the DOT.

Waterbury Branch service change (Updated)

Metro-North Railroad announced a service change Monday afternoon for the Waterbury Branch.

All trains are now departing from the Stratford station until further notice. These trains are running about 30 minutes late.

UPDATE: Departure resumed from the Bridgeport station starting with the 5:56 p.m. train.

Tractor-trailer accident closes I-84 in Danbury

A tractor-trailer accident closed the westbound side of Interstate 84 in Danbury early Friday.

The crash, reported at 1:41 a.m., took place between exits 2 and 3. The state Department of Transportation says the accident was cleared at 4:08 a.m.

DOT: Crash closes Merritt in Milford

The Merritt Parkway is closed on the northbound side between Exits 55B and 56 because of a two-vehicle accident.

The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. Monday. The Department of Transportation estimates it could take up to two hours to clear the accident.

It was not immediately known if anyone was injured.

Accident closes I-95 South

UPDATE (9:35 pm.): The DOT is reporting I-95 South is reopened in Norwalk.  There continue to be delays back to Exit 18 in Westport.

ORIGINAL POST: A multi-vehicle accident has closed Interstate 95 southbound in Norwalk between Exits 16 and 15.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation reports the interstate is backed up to Exit 18 in Westport because of the accident, which occurred shortly before 8:30 Sunday night.

The DOT says it could take one hour to clear.
