Short descriptive tagline

Another bird for J.J.

J.J. Henry just posted his fourth birdie in his last five holes, after knocking it stiff at 17. Henry nailed a 137-yard approach to three-feet and made it to move to 4-under on the day and 10-under for the tourmanent.

J.J.’s making a late run

All right! Fairfield’s J.J. Henry has ripped off three straight birdies at No.’s 13, 14 and 15 to get to 3-under on the day and 9-under for the tournament. Currently, Henry’s tied for 24th. Moving up!

Elementary Mr. Watson

Bubba Watson’s making an early run. He’s 6-under through his first 12 holes (and he’s got an eagle putt on 13 as I type).

He’s still four shots off the lead and unlikely to win but still haven’t a great day. I’m heading out to walk with his group for a while. Check back in later.

The fourth round is underway

Cue the deep voiced PA announcer: “SUNDAY! … SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY! … Right here at the Travelers Championship … watch the stars battle it out for the title! Kenny Perry, Paul Goydos, David Toms and many, many others. They’ll shoot for the pins, battle over birdies and only one man will be left standing!

SUNDAY! … SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!

That’s today … the fourth round has gotten underway. The leaders — who tee off between 1:30 and 2 p.m. — will be hitting the practice range soon. Should be a great day of golf.

So far, it’s overcast and cool at the TPC River Highlands but (thank god) no rain. Yet.

Done for the day

The third round of the Travelers Championship is over and your leader is … drum roll, please, Paul Goydos at 16-under par, who shot a 7-under 63 to take the lead away from Kenny Perry (66), who’s second at 15-under, David Toms (66) is third at 14-under.

Where’s J.J. Henry, you ask? He’s at 6-under, 10 shots off the lead.
