Drummond’s exit leaves UConn frontcourt thin

Andre Drummond will declare for the 2012 NBA Draft and become the first one-and-done in program history, sources told Hearst Connecticut Media Group on Wednesday.

In turn, UConn’s frontcourt — normally loaded with size and shot-blockers — is now severely lacking in both categories.

UConn has 12 scholarships next year, according to a team spokesperson. Eight scholarship players return, and the Huskies have a commitment from New York City combo guard Omar Calhoun. It seems likely that UConn will nab transfer R.J. Evans, as well. That leaves the Huskies with two scholarships remaining and some holes up front. Here’s a tentative look at next season’s roster.
