What will UConn’s roster look like next season?

|

Well, not like a typical UConn roster.

Don’t expect next year’s team to lead the nation in blocked shots. Don’t expect the Huskies to be anywhere near the top of the Big East in that category, either.

Andre Drummond is headed to the NBA, and Alex Oriakhi and reserve 6-foot-10 big man Michael Bradley are likely transferring out of the program. Oriakhi spent Friday visiting Missouri while Bradley, who didn’t sniff a second of playing time in two years at UConn, was officially granted a release from scholarship.

“I don’t know if I will (transfer), but if I do, it will be because of my grandma. She has cancer,” he told Hearst Connecticut Friday afternoon. “That’s all I will say at this time.”

The Huskies did secure a commitment from senior transfer R.J. Evans, a versatile guard who will be counted on to play multiple positions.

Here’s a look at UConn’s roster as of right now.

*Note: The Huskies have three scholarships available for next season and will certainly be in the market for a big man.
