In its only tournament of 2012-13, the UConn men’s basketball team will open the Paradise Jam with Wake Forest on November 16.
A UConn spokesperson also confirmed Saturday that the Huskies will not play in the 2012 Carrier Classic (as originally expected). UConn will work with Morale Entertainment, the private group that runs the Carrier Classic, on the possibility of future games. Marquette and Ohio State are reportedly in negotiations for the game this season.
The Huskies, clinging to the slimmest of hopes for inclusion in the Big East and NCAA tournaments, will play a 30-game regular season highlighted by a Dec. 4 matchup with N.C. State in the Jimmy V Classic and the Paradise Jam, the early-season tournament that UConn won in 2008.
If UConn gets by Wake Forest — the only other high-major in the field — it’ll face the winner of Quinnipiac and Iona in the semifinals.
