Former UConn player Ricky Moore, who played a pivotal role in the team’s 1999 national championship, could be joining Kevin Ollie’s staff as an assistant.
The news was first reported by Alex Kline of The Recruit Scoop. When contacted by Hearst Connecticut Media Group, Moore said nothing is finalized yet, but it could become a done deal within weeks. Although there are “things that need to be reviewed,” he said the chances of ending up at UConn are in the “90th percentile.” He’s been an assistant at Dartmouth for the past two seasons.
“If it works out, I’ll be happy to be coming back to Connecticut,” Moore said.
George Blaney will take a role in operations, according to The Recruit Scoop.
