Report: Adrien signs with Bobcats

|

Former UConn standout Jeff Adrien signed with the Charlotte Bobcats Sunday, according to Hoopsworld.com.

The 6-foot-7 power forward had been with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Developmental League. Prior to his stint in Rio Grande, Adrien was invited to the Bobcats’ training camp, but cut on Oct. 6.

In 31 career games with Golden State and Houston, Adrien averaged 2.5 points and 2.6 rebounds. The Bobcats, who have two other UConn products (Kemba Walker and Ben Gordon), are thin up front. Adrien is in competition with Hakim Warrick and  Bismack Biyombo for bench minutes. Power forward Tyrus Thomas (strained calf) has been out since Nov. 19.
