Ryan Boatright scored 20 points and dished out seven assists in the first half as UConn took a 57-28 lead into the locker room Friday versus Fordham.
Two Boatright free throws with 10:22 remaining put UConn ahead 26-15, and an R.J. Evans 3-pointer — his first of the year — opened up a 14-point advantage that only ballooned. UConn continued on a 26-8 run, fueled largely by Boatright 3-pointers, Shabazz Napier assists and Omar Calhoun steals.
Calhoun totaled 13 points in the first half and hit three of UConn’s eight shots from long range.
UConn (8-2) had 10 steals, most of which translated to fastbreak layups. The Huskies also had 16 assists and just two turnovers.
