Napier AAC Player of the Week, Huskies move to 9th in AP

AWARD WINNER: UConn senior Shabazz Napier was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week after averaging 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals in wins over Florida and Maine. Napier  shot 55 percent from the field (11 of 20) and 54.5 percent from 3-point range (6 of 11) and was perfect from the free throw line (5 of 5). Napier scored 26 points, including the game-winning jumper at the buzzer, in the 65-64 win against the Gators and had seven points with eight assists, five rebounds and four steals in just 22 minutes of a 95-68 win against the Black Bears.

MOVING ON UP: The Huskies have moved up to ninth in the latest AP poll, going up three spots from 12th last week. In the USA Today Coaches Poll, UConn moved up to 12th from 14th.
