Ali has second thoughts about UConn

Guard Prince Ali might not be heading to UConn in 2015 after all. The 6-foot-3 guard appears to be having second thoughts about his verbal commitment to the Huskies last November.

“After talking it over with my family I have decided to reopen my recruitment!” Ali tweeted Thursday.  “I still love the Uconn and I am still considering Uconn!”

Guard Will Jackson, from Georgia, and Ali, who led Sagemont (Fla.) School to a state championship this year, were the early additions to head coach Kevin Ollie’s 2015 class. Ali did not offer an explanation for why he was making himself available again. UConn coaches are not permitted to comment on recruits until they officially sign.

After flirting with the NBA, Ollie agreed to a new five-year contract with UConn last Thursday that could be worth as much as $16 million.
