It seems that Paul Pasqualoni doesn’t need to find a defensive coordinator after all. He had one right under his nose.
Defensive line coach Hank Hughes will be adding the defensive coordinator’s role to his business cards after being given the added responsibility by Pasqualoni two days before the Huskies announce their 2013 recruiting class at Rentschler Field.
Hughes first served as defensive coordinator for the Huskies under head coach Randy Edsall from 2002-04 and was the “assistant head coach” for Edsall’s defense from 2005-10.
Pasqualoni also clarified the rest of his coaching staff’s duties as follows:
George DeLeone – Associate Head Coach, Offensive Line
T.J. Weist – Offensive Coordinator, Wide Receivers
Hank Hughes – Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Line
Kermit Buggs – Special Teams Coordinator, Running Backs
Matt Cersosimo – Cornerbacks, Recruiting Coordinator
Shane Day – Quarterbacks
Mike Foley – Tight Ends
Darrell Perkins – Safeties
Jon Wholley – Linebackers
