AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Nova engineered Rutgers’ second-half comeback from a 24-7 deficit to help the Scarlet Knights top Arkansas 28-24. He completed 22 of 43 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns, including a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes as the Scarlet Knights scored 21 unanswered points to close the game. Nova, who threw for 147 yards in the fourth quarter against Arkansas, has thrown for 542 yards and six touchdowns this season.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Ifedi was the leader of a Memphis defense that limited Arkansas State to just seven points and 255 yards of offense in the Tigers’ 31-7 win. Arkansas State had averaged 37 points and 544 yards entering the game. Ifedi had a game- and career-high 10 tackles to go with 2.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss against the Red Wolves, giving him at least one sack in each of Memphis’ first three games. Ifedi enters this week as the national leader in sacks (1.8 per game) and tackles for loss (3.0 per game).
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Janarion Grant • Fr. • WR • Rutgers • Trilby, Fla.
Grant had four punt returns for 106 yards and made the key play to turn Rutgers’ game against Arkansas in the Scarlet Knights’ favor with a 58-yard punt return in the third quarter. That play sparked Rutgers’ comeback from a 17-point deficit as the Scarlet Knights went on to win 28-24. It was the second special teams touchdown of the season for Grant, who had a 100-yard kickoff return for a score in the season-opener against Fresno State.
