AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Gilbert set five school records in the Mustangs’ American Athletic Conference opener, a 55-52 loss to Rutgers in triple-overtime. He completed 45 of 70 passes for 484 yards and five touchdowns and added a pair of rushing touchdowns as SMU erased a 35-14 fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime. Gilbert threw three TD passes, as well as the tying two-point conversion, in the fourth quarter and he had both of his rushing touchdowns in the overtime periods. He finished the day with school records in attempts, completions, passing yards, total offense (498 yards) and touchdowns responsible for.

Terrance Plummer • Jr. • LB • UCF • Orange Park, Fla.
Plummer had five tackles, a sack, two interceptions and two pass breakups to help UCF rally for a 24-17 win at Memphis in the Knights’ American Athletic Conference opener. Both of Plummer’s interceptions came in key spots as his pick late in the second quarter ended a Memphis drive at the 8-yard line. He iced the win for UCF with an interception in the end zone with 35 seconds left in the fourth quarter after the Tigers had threatened to tie the score by advancing to the 6-yard line.
AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marvin Kloss • Jr. • K • USF • Naples, Fla.
On a day in which USF did not score an offensive touchdown, Kloss provided most of the scoring in the Bulls’ 26-20 win against Cincinnati in their American Athletic Conference opener. Kloss scored 14 points, making all four of his field goal attempts and adding two PATs to account for all of USF’s offensive points against the Bearcats. His 52-yard field goal in the second quarter staked the Bulls to a 13-0 lead and marked the third-longest field goal in school.

Had five tackles, including three tackles for loss, with a sack, a fumble recovery and a blocked field goal attempt in a 30-7 win at Temple.
Justin Goodwin • Fr. • RB • Rutgers • Madison, N.J.
Had 24 carries for 149 yards and two touchdowns to go with two catches for 73 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, in a 55-52 win at SMU.
