Weekly American Athletic Conference football award winners

Here’s the American Athletic Conference winners of the weekly football honors for the 10th week of the college football season.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gary Nova • Jr. • QB • Rutgers • Elmwood Park, N.J.

Nova led Rutgers on a 72-yard drive, capped by a 33-yard touchdown pass with 35 seconds left, to help the Scarlet Knights rally past Temple 23-20. Nova finished the day 27-for-38 for 371 yards and three touchdowns, including two fourth-quarter TD passes that gave Rutgers the lead. Nova was 5-for-7 for 72 yards on the game-winning drive as the Scarlet Knights took over on their own 28-yard line with 1:50 left in regulation.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Zach Edwards • Fr. • S • Cincinnati • Middletown, Ohio

Edwards helped Cincinnati improve to 3-1 in the American Athletic Conference as he led a Bearcat defense that limited Memphis to 232 yards of offense in a 34-21 win. Edwards had a game-high 11 tackles, including one tackle for loss, and had a fumble recovery that led to a Cincinnati touchdown on the following play. Edwards has 38 tackles with two interceptions in his freshman season.

AMERICAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marvin Kloss • Jr. • K • USF • Naples, Fla.

Kloss scored 11 points and extended his streak of consecutive field goals made to 13 in the Bulls’ 35-23 loss to Houston. Kloss connected on field goals of 50, 49 and 39 yards and was 2-for-2 on PATs to account for nearly half of USF’s scoring against the Cougars. Kloss leads the American Athletic Conference with 13 field goals and he has not missed a kick since the first game of the season.

WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Anthony McClung • Sr. • WR • Cincinnati • Indianapolis, Ind.

Had nine receptions for 98 yards and a touchdown in a 34-21 win at Memphis.

Kenneth Farrow • So. • RB • Houston • Hurst, Texas
Had six carries for 51 yards and a touchdown and five receptions for 24 yards and another score in a 35-23 win against USF.

Trevon Stewart • So. • S • Houston • Patterson, La.
Had 10 tackles and an interception in a 35-23 win against USF.

Leonte Carroo • So. • WR • Rutgers • Edison, N.J.
Had seven receptions for 147 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 23-20 win against Temple.

Mike White • Fr. • QB • USF • Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Completed 26 of 41 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-23 loss at Houston in his first career start.
