About Frank Ramppen

Frank Ramppen is from Stamford where he was a four year starter at Rippowam H.S. earning All-County and All State honors as a Junior and Senior. He was also part of the 16-18 Babe Ruth All star teams from 1976-1978 advancing to the World Series in 76 and earning All New England honors in 78.

Frank was a 3 year starter at the University of Tampa and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins after his junior year in 1980. He played 4 years in the Twins organization as an infielder.

Frank later graduated form Sacred Heart University as a Dean’s list student with a Business Management degree.

Currently Frank is infield and bench coach with the Chiba Lotte Marines in Japan under Bobby Valentine.

In 2005 when the Marines won the Nipon Championship, all 4 of Frank’s infielders earned gold gloves for the first time in Japanese baseball history.
Frank is also a business partner with Bobby at his Restaurant and Baseball Academy in Stamford.
