Remember during the February blizzard when you said that you ‘d rather be hot than cold?
This is all your fault.
It will be hazy, hot and humid again today, the dreaded Triple H that gets even people who love summer grousing.
We are under a Heat Advisory again today. The National Weather Service issues the advisory whenever the combination of temperature and humidity — the so-called Heat Index– rises to a level that could cause health problems, especially for the elderly and those with existing medical conditions.
Most communities have their libraries and Senior Centers open for those who don’t have air conditioning at home to seek respite. It is also a good day for the beach — the water temperature in Long Island Sound is a tepid 76. It will feel like a cool bath today.
No new temperature records were set Monday, though Bridgeport came close. The current heat wave is expected to last until Saturday, when a storm front will move through to break it up and bring rain and winds.
