The real nasty weather is north of us, for now. There is a chance for a thunderstorm that could bring heavy rains and flash flooding with it, but the best chance for that in Fairfield County is before 2 p.m., the National Weather Service says.

It will be mostly sunny today with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
