Sunny, but slightly cooler today

The federal shutdown has affected operations at the National Weather Service.

“Due to the federal government shutdown, NOAA.gov and most associated web sites are unavailable. Only web sites necessary to protect lives and property will be maintained.”

Fortunately, there are no serious storms threatening us. We still have several days of nice weather ahead of us.

The temperature reached 82 degrees in Bridgeport Wednesday, missing the record high by one degree set in 1954.

Here’s the forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 76. Calm wind becoming north around 6 mph in the morning.

Tonight: A slight chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming east around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Southeast wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74.

Sunday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
