Snowfall totals top 7 inches in some places

Most remnants from the first major storm of the season have moved through southern Connecticut and is headed north, which means people can now dig out and have some fun in the fresh snow that’s blanketed the region this weekend.

If you’re going out early this morning, make sure you drive carefully. Forecasts were calling for up to one-third of an inch of ice to be deposited on top of that snow, which means roads could still be slippery in the early hours.

The National Weather Service was keeping track of snow accumulation in certain areas. Here are the numbers from their latest report, which came out at 2:03 a.m.:
