Weather updates for Fairfield County Connecticut

Say goodbye to the snow…. for now

|

An inversion, where the air above the ground is warmer than at the surface, is in place over our region, the National Weather Service reports.

At the surface, the temperature is 31 degrees but at 1,850 feet the temperature is already 53. As the sun comes up, the inversion will erode away fairly quickly and some of this warmer air will “mix” down to the surface.

High temperatures today are expected to be in the upper 40s across the interior, and lower 50s closer to the coast, the NWS says. It will be even warmer tomorrow and Sunday, and the weather next week looks nice too.

There is a small craft advisory posted for the south shore of Long Island but no warnings or watches at all for our region today.
