Storm causes power outages

Update as of 8:15 a.m. Nearly 30 UI customers in Bridgeport remain without power this morning. CL&P reports scattered outages throughout Fairfield County.

Update as of 1:30 a.m. The outages from Thursday night’s storm have stretched into the Fourth. More than 300 CL&P customers are without power in Newtown. More than 150 are in the dark in Danbury and Wilton. CL&P is also reporting nearly 200 outages in Westport, 94 in Norwalk and 55 in Greenwich.

United illuminated is reporting roughly 70 outages in Fairfield and 50+ in Ansonia.

Update as of 11 p.m. More than 50 people without power in Trumbull and Ansonia, but the outages in Easton/Fairfield have been resolved.

Hundreds remain without power in New Canaan, Seymour, Newtown and Danbury.

Power outages are sprouting up throughout Southern Connecticut as a result of Thursday’s severe weather.

More than a 1,000 people are without power in Easton/Fairfield according to the United Illuminating Company outage map. The outages are expected be restored by 10 p.m.

More than 500 in Seymour and Danbury, more than 200 in New Canaan, More than 300 in Newtown and Westport and about 100 in Norwalk and Oxford are without power, according to Connecticut Light and Power outage map.
